Loganlea Community Support Service (Respite facility)

  • Renovation of 7 bathrooms
  • Built and designed to comply with construction standards for DCCDS (Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services) properties
  • Residents of the properties all have special needs that required the bathrooms to combine both PWD (Person with Disability) and robust requirements
  • Works completed in accordance of deadline which was highly important given the nature of the job and special needs of residents
  • Professional service at all times including adhering to the Respite Facilities regulations especially with security and awareness of resident’s requirement

Choice Passion Life Centre

Hillcrest, Queensland

Project: Upgrade of 14 bathrooms

  • Demolition and re-build of bathrooms
  • Replacement of water damaged load bearing walls
  • Worked within time constraints to enable tenants use of facility
  • Works carried out without accessing main living areas or disrupting daily schedule of tenants and carers
  • Design based on AS 1428.1, with additional features specific to tenants needs

Loganlea Community Support Service (Respite facility)

Project: 19/20 DCCDS Cos Program

 

  • Demolition and re-build of bathroom
  • Re-instated to meet AS 1428.1 and bariatric requirements
  • The new Luna 200kg Fixed Ceiling Hoist with wall mounted tracks and door connector was installed to transport the tenant direct from bed to bathroom
  • Works carried out whilst tenants still residing at property
  • Completed project on time whilst adhering to all Covid protocols
  • This specialist project involved full demolition of the bathroom (including concrete floor) and adjacent powder room and conversion into a toilet/ bathroom.
  • New room consisted of 2 showers, one to be PWD compliant the other with bariatric considerations and designed specifically for the tenant.
  • Toilet pan was also tenant specific, being recessed into the new concrete slab by 100mm to lower the level of the seat.
  • New Luna 200kg Fixed Ceiling Hoist with wall mounted tracks and door connector was installed to transport the tenant direct from bed to the shower or toilet and can also assist the carers re-locate the tenant to other areas of the bedroom or bathroom when required.
  • Walls and ceiling were all lined with 12mm ply and 6mm villaboard and painted with 2-Pac acrylic epoxy paint. The wet areas had an additional lining of 12mm Corian. Floors were sheeted with Armstrong Accolade safe vinyl.
  • All works were carried out while the 3 tenants were able to spend their days inside or outside in the garden of the house with minimal disruption to their daily routine.
  • Walls were installed to separate the work area and to create a temporary bedroom for the tenant whilst works were carried out, with all walls removed and the areas patched and painted at completion.
